Research interests

My research focuses on the functioning of cis-regulatory elements. To better understand their role, I use a combination of molecular and cellular biology approaches as well as high-throughput techniques. In particular, I exploit MPRA and STARR-seq technologies to map and quantify the activity of regulatory sequences on a large scale. I also integrate CRISPR-based approaches to modulate these elements and analyze their functional impact. My aim is to decipher the mechanisms by which these regions influence gene expression and their potential role in biological and pathological processes.
