Bonjour à toutes et à tous,

Nous avons le plaisir de vous retrouver vendredi pour le grand retour du PhD Day, qui se tiendra sur le campus de Luminy.

Les séminaires du matin auront lieu dans le bâtiment B de la Faculté des Sciences, à l’amphithéâtre 10.

La journée débutera par l’accueil des participant·e·s au premier étage du bâtiment B à partir de 9 h, suivi de l’ouverture à 9 h 45.

Nous aurons notamment le plaisir d’accueillir cette année Mireille Harmelin-Vivien, Directrice de recherche émérite au CNRS, à l’Institut Méditerranéen d’Océanologie (Aix-Marseille Université).

Le buffet ainsi que les activités de l’après-midi auront lieu au TAGC.

Voici le programme détaillé de la journée :

• 9 h 00 : Accueil des participant·e·s (bâtiment B de la Faculté des Sciences, devant l’amphithéâtre 10)
• 9 h 45 : Ouverture
• 10 h 00 : Mireille Harmelin-Vivien — « Les amours des poissons : Némo n’est pas une histoire pour les enfants… ! » (présentation en français avec diapositives en anglais)
• 11 h 00 : Pause café
• 11 h 15 : Hugo  Bonnefous — « Hunting cryptids for the sake of serious science »
• 11 h 45 : Mathilde Slivak — « Biology did it first, Sci-Fi just rewrites it: real animals behind imaginary creatures »
• 12 h 15 : Déjeuner
• 14 h 00 – 17 h 00 : Olympiades
• 17 h 00 : Clôture et beer session

Quelques informations pratiques :

• Aucune activité physique intense n’est prévue, mais l’après-midi se déroulera en partie en extérieur. Pensez à prévoir une tenue légère et adaptée à la météo. Des bouteilles d’eau seront mises à disposition.
• Pour celles et ceux qui ne savent pas où se trouve l’amphithéâtre, un départ depuis le TAGC est organisé à 9 h.

Dear all,

We are delighted to welcome you this Friday for the long-awaited return of the PhD Day, which will take place on the Luminy campus.

The morning seminars will be held inBuilding B of the Faculty of Science, in Lecture Hall 10.

The day will begin with participant registration on the first floor of Building B from 9:00 AM, followed by the official opening at 9:45 AM.

We are especially pleased to welcomeMireille Harmelin-Vivien, Emeritus Research Director at the CNRS and the Mediterranean Institute of Oceanography (Aix-Marseille University).

Lunch and the afternoon activities will take place at the TAGC.

Detailed Program

• 9:00 AM – Registration and welcome (Building B, Faculty of Science, in front of Lecture Hall 10)
• 9:45 AM – Opening remarks
• 10:00 AM – Mireille Harmelin-Vivien “Les amours des poissons : Némo n’est pas une histoire pour les enfants…!” (Presentation in French with English slides)
• 11:00 AM – Coffee break
• 11:15 AM – Hugo Bonnefous “Hunting Cryptids for the Sake of Serious Science”

Practical Information

• No strenuous physical activity is planned; however, part of the afternoon will take place outdoors. We recommend wearing light and comfortable clothing appropriate for the weather. Water bottles will be available throughout the day.
• For those unfamiliar with the location of the lecture hall, a group departure from the TAGC is organized at 9:00 AM.
