On December 10, 2018, the Bettencourt Schueller Foundation awarded its annual scientific prizes to 19 researchers whose work contributes to the advancement of scientific knowledge on major health and environmental issues. The total allocation of these prizes amounts to nearly €2 million. For the first time, the awards ceremony took place in the André and Liliane Bettencourt auditorium of the Institut de France, in the presence of Françoise Bettencourt Meyers, President of the Bettencourt Schueller Foundation, Xavier Darcos, Chancellor of the Institut de France and Hugues de Thé, President of the Scientific Council of the Bettencourt Schueller Foundation.

Salvatore Spicuglia, winner of the 2018 Bettencourt Coups d'élan Prize for French research is presented along with his research work in the press release.
