In an article published in Cell Genomics, members of TAGC reveal a new DNA regulatory element, ESpromoter, with a novel dual function: it acts both as a gas pedal and a brake on two key immune system genes. This major discovery sheds light on the molecular mechanisms behind severe forms of malaria.
